THE PROBLEM

Lancaster University has achieved various accreditations for food and drink across campus. They have a Food for Life and Allergen accreditation. It’s important to them that customers can dine in confidence knowing that the food prepared on campus is fresh, ethical and uses the best seasonal ingredients possible.

However, neither staff nor students have any deep awareness of the high standards of hospitality excellence and they needed to create a strong brand identity that could be applied across all the venues, whilst allowing them to have their own personalities. This brand architecture would provide a framework and roadmap for the future development of food and drink on campus.

BRAND STORY

We’re starting a campus food revolution – one plate of delicious, sustainable, locally sourced meal at a time. We’re starting by taking everything back to basics. We want to be able to tell the story of where our food comes from – and be on first name terms with producers and suppliers. We want good quality food, cooked from scratch on site, that satisfies everyone’s appetites and taste buds. Variety is the spice of life and we want to be able to cater for everyone – from the fussiest eaters to the bravest – and we want to do this all in a way that’s affordable for all.
