Our MD, Janie Ash’s participation as a key speaker in a Developing Place-based Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Branding in Donegal Seminar / Workshop in March 2018 has received considerable attention.
Dr Ed McKeever form Lancaster University ” We were trending no. 3 on twitter in Ireland. Your presentation drew a lot of positive comment in Ireland. Ireland loves Better with Jam”
The rationale behind the seminar is Donegal currently has an opportunity to create an entrepreneurial legacy from major ongoing developments such as the 2018 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, Star Wars, The Wild Atlantic Way Initiative, the development of Malin Head, the North West Greenway network and the Clipper 2017-2018 Round the World Yacht Race. An entrepreneurial legacy is a lasting benefit, which is achieved through innovation and an increased ability to recognise and realise new opportunities to grow the local economy, create additional jobs and sustain local communities. The seminar will question how local entrepreneurial and innovative ecosystems can be fostered. The workshop will explore what community enterprises, private businesses and public agencies can do to support the delivery of world-class products, services and visitor experiences – under a consistent local brand – where consumers receive the same coherent message about Donegal at each point of contact.
Organiser Fiona Doherty said
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all sincerely for your contribution to the hugely successful seminar and workshop last Thursday. I am pleased to see that the event has received great coverage in the local media and social platforms, I have received positive emails and comments from attendees on the day which is a wonderful measure in terms of moving forward.
The seminar and workshop has proved that there is an appetite from the various small businesses, community organisations, development groups, hoteliers, stakeholders, hospitality providers etc for Donegal County Council to provide a magnesium to create an entrepreneurial legacy and everything we talked about in terms of Innovation, local economic growth, employment creation and the sustainability of local communities.”
